Since the RPX originated from the DNA of the famous RPM, the new RPX has become a staple in Slingshot’s lineup. The kite has been the favorite of the Brazilian Carlos Mario Bebe for several years, and he has become a champion multiple times with this legendary Slingshot kite. The Slingshot RPX V2 2024 Kite is a three-strut kite that delivers excellent performance for freestyling thanks to its unique shape. The C-shaped arc (also known as the kite’s bow) provides direct responsiveness and handling, while the slack is perfectly timed for your freestyle tricks. With fairly square wingtips and a low aspect, the RPX turns quickly, allowing you to perform powerful kiteloops with the new RPX. In addition to these performance-oriented features, the RPX rides upwind easily and has a broad wind range.
New to the Slingshot RPX V2 is the updated frame. The Leading Edge and Struts in the V2 are made of high-strength polyester. This material, known as FrameLITE, minimizes stretch in all directions, improving stiffness for greater responsiveness and better kite handling. It’s also lighter in weight, at only 160 grams per square meter. The bridles have also been improved in the V2. They are 25% thinner while maintaining the same strength as the bridles previously used. These thinner bridles, made of new materials, reduce drag.
The canopy (fabric) of the Slingshot RPX V2 is constructed with 4×4 Canopy Tech. This fabric is Slingshot’s strongest and stiffest, ensuring you can enjoy your beloved RPX for as long as possible. The fabric is reinforced with ripstop nylon and features a 4×4 weave to make it highly resistant to tears and pinholes. The RPX can be fully customized to your preferences. Thanks to the various frame options, you can lengthen or shorten the steering and power lines to adjust the turning speed, power, and angle of attack.
